Armor Ballistic Performance Warranty

 Ballistic Performance Warranty Period

TAC Eleven, LLC (“TAC 11”) warrants that its armor products will meet their stated anti-ballistic performance specifications only for the duration of the ballistic warranty period specified on the product label (the “Ballistic Warranty Period”).

The Ballistic Warranty Period begins on the manufacturing date printed on the product label, not the date of purchase, delivery, or first use.

Scope of Warranty. This warranty applies solely to the ballistic performance of the armor when used and stored in accordance with TAC 11’s published guidelines. During the Ballistic Warranty Period, TAC 11’s sole obligation, and Customer’s exclusive remedy, shall be repair or replacement of the affected product, or refund of the purchase price, at TAC 11’s discretion.

Expiration of Warranty. Upon expiration of the Ballistic Warranty Period, TAC 11 assumes no responsibility or liability for the ballistic performance of the armor, and the Customer expressly waives any claim related to ballistic protection, penetration resistance, or impact performance occurring after the warranty period has ended.

Exclusions. This warranty does not apply to armor that has been:

  • Modified, altered, or repaired by any party other than TAC 11
  • Subjected to misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper handling
  • Exposed to environmental or storage conditions outside TAC 11’s recommended limits
  • Previously impacted by ballistic threats, blunt force, or significant mechanical damage

 Impact & Damage

Any ballistic impact, whether penetration occurs or not, voids the warranty for the impacted armor. Mechanical damage including drops, blunt force, crushing, vehicle accidents, or improper handling also voids the warranty. If any of these instances occur, the armor should be replaced/taken out of use.

Armor Storage, Environmental Exposure & Warranty Voidance

Proper Storage Requirements

Armor products must be stored in a cool, dry, climate-controlled environment, away from direct sunlight, moisture, chemicals, and excessive heat.

Polyethylene (PE) Armor Heat Exposure. Polyethylene-based armor products are particularly sensitive to elevated temperatures. Exposure to excessive heat can permanently degrade ballistic performance without visible damage.

PE armor must not be stored or exposed to:

  • Temperatures exceeding 160°F (71°C)
  • Prolonged exposure to high heat environments, including but not limited to: Vehicles, trunks, or cargo areas
  • Shipping containers or non-climate-controlled storage facilities
  • Attics, warehouses, or enclosed spaces subject to thermal buildup

Warranty Voidance. Improper storage, heat exposure, or environmental degradation voids all ballistic performance warranties, whether or not damage is externally visible. TAC 11 reserves the right to deny warranty claims where improper storage or environmental exposure is reasonably determined to have occurred.

Customer Responsibility. The Customer is solely responsible for ensuring proper storage and handling of armor products throughout their lifecycle.

Chemical Exposure (Polyethylene Armor)

Chemical Degradation. Polyethylene (PE) armor products may be permanently degraded by exposure to certain chemicals, solvents, oils, fuels, and cleaning agents. Such degradation may not be externally visible but can significantly reduce ballistic performance.

PE armor must not be exposed to, or stored in environments containing, chemicals including but not limited to:

  • Petroleum-based products (fuels, oils, lubricants, hydraulic fluids)
  • Solvents or degreasers
  • Acids, bases, or industrial cleaning agents
  • Insect repellents, pesticides, or aerosolized chemicals
  • Adhesives, resins, or uncured chemical compounds not approved by TAC 11

Warranty Voidance Due to Chemical Exposure. Any exposure of PE armor to chemicals capable of degrading polymer materials voids all ballistic performance warranties, whether or not physical damage is visible at the time of inspection. TAC 11 reserves the right to deny warranty claims where chemical exposure is reasonably suspected or identified.

Customer Responsibility. The Customer is solely responsible for preventing chemical exposure to armor products during storage, transport, and use.

NIJ Testing Disclaimer

Ballistic testing is conducted under controlled laboratory conditions in accordance with established and defined testing protocols . Real-world threats vary in velocity, angle, spacing, and ammunition construction. Body armor reduces risk but does not eliminate the possibility of injury or death. TAC 11 makes no guarantee of survivability or freedom of physical injury in all scenarios.

Inspection & Determination

TAC 11 reserves the right to inspect all armor and determine warranty eligibility. No warranty claim is valid without TAC 11 authorization.
